Symphony in red

With my work being geometrical, my main worries are about limits. In this new series, I'm dividing the landscape. At the same time, the question is raised about unity and its part on the whole with the color on a key role. The work raises questions about physical change, bodily damage and external flaws. I am interested in the things that appear or we find out that make up our being as they emerge. My practice continually develops as uncertainty and indecision come into play. The works embody feelings of both separation and attachment, where a certain crisis or sense of release can be felt. I draw from life experience associated with the body. Nikos' work is defined by his adherence to the personal and the essential. An early interest in theology is reflected in his use of geometry and his emphasis on structural purity. While Nikos work tends towards minimalism, its starkness is tempered by its texture and materiality. These works represent a synthesis of Hard-edge and Abstract Expressionist techniques on the recurring themes include home, displacement, borders, journey and memory.
