Katerina Aslanidou was born in Athens in 1978. She studied painting in the Athens Fine Arts School with painter Chronis Botsoglou as her teacher.Graduated in 2003.Since 2005 she s a teacher of arts in primary and secondary education.
"In my child room, I started painting, to unfold the space in an absolute way, the open and closed doors, the light and the harsh shadows on the white walls and between them, a living form, standing in the familiar space again, sometimes like a statue, sometimes like a shadow. I wanted to translate the space into earth geometry, in shallow levels with warm colors, white and gray that in total look like blue and cold purple. Leaving the child room, away from the city, looking out of the window, I capture the line of the horizon, the shadow of the flower on the wall at noon, the dark volume of the mountain, the blue of the hour that at the last light it disappears. Bright openings to the outside world, from inside windows, starting from my child room ".
